When it comes to research regarding climate change, biodiversity and land use, the University of Bern is one of the world’s most prominent institutions and it has already done pioneering work in this area. What’s more, it made a commitment in its Strategy 2030 to integrate sustainability as an interdisciplinary issue in all areas of the University and to promote the respectful use of ecological, economic and social resources. The past few years have seen the successful implementation of measures within the University’s teaching activities and operations to embrace sustainability and apply scientific findings and the results of research.

The University of Bern is currently collaborating on the preparation of a roadmap to climate neutrality by 2030. This roadmap includes both measures for reducing greenhouse gases as well as strategies for dealing with unavoidable emissions.
